While serving these various churches he worked as the debit manager for the Washington National Insurance Company and a few other insurance companies as well. He never actually officially retired as he served on a part-time basis as the pastor of the Newport United Methodist Church for an additional 16 years. He later served as the pastor of the former Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Bridgeton for 15 years before his retirement. He spent 14 years at the Dividing Creek United Methodist, followed by three years at the Sharptown United Methodist Church.
